Gloagburn farm ( Last Assessed 2010 )
Gloagburn farm cafe near Perth was a welcome stop on our return from the north of Scotland this weekend. We entered the farm with a fantastic view of wild boar roaming the fields and ducks a plenty. There was even a circular cage with tiny baby chickens for the kids ( Although i was just as excited as the kids) You enter the cafe through the farm shop with plenty of the usual and if i may say LARGE fresh vegetables and fruits .There is a well stocked deli type shop before the cafe ,which stocked many different and unusual foods and gifts . I bought some hand painted and crafted egg holders and some unusual chocolates .On the way in to sample more Homebaking on this marathon trip i was stopped by the huge platter of Wild Boar and Sage pasties - well yes you guessed it was purchased and enjoyed thoroughly whilst watching the "Living boar" in the fields outside. It was so good i couldnt manage my normal taster of cakes but they were plentiful and looked an excellent standard. maybe next time Gloagburn i will return to sample the cakes on display. Well done keep up the good work.
