Baking with Melanie

Welcome to the only Awarding and Regulatory body for Artisan Bakers in Scotland .

This award system is the only one of its kind in scotland. There is not an Awarding body for Baking but many for Master Bakers. This scheme aims to award the outstanding Baking that exists in scotland and acts as a fantastic online guide to tourists and local people alike to the very best establishments that produce quality Baking.

There will be no bad reviews as only the establishments that are Awarded the SBA(Scottish Baking Award)will be featured, therefore acting as a genuine guide. These establishments will be issued with their Award which can be displayed in their premises, signfying good Baking. If you dont have an Award then you either have not been Assessed or failed to meet Assessment criteria. This scheme will cleverly create healthy competition within Scotlands Baking industry and improve the level of Baking for our customers. Many many places advertise baking today but how many can actually say its excellent. This is their aim -to achieve a higher standard within Scotland and to stand alone in the world for excellent Baking no matter where you go in Scotland.

The first Supermarket Baked products assessed today

Today was the first day of Assessments for our main Supermarkets in Scotland . This year we have introduced a new Category for our Awards at Mar Hall in September - "Scotland's Best Supermarket Baked product". Because our Assessments are carried out incognito and we are not paid to visit them ,we are sampling what you the customer would be purchasing. Todays Supermarket on trial was "Waitrose " . Our findings will be released via our London Based PR company nearer the Awards Ceremony with 3 out 7 Supermarkets in our finals. Today we tried 1. BREAD- PETT MANGE BLANC. 2. DOUBLE CHOC CHIP COOKIE. 3. ICED FINGER BUN. 4.BLUEBERRY MUFFIN. 5. SULTANA SCONE.  Our findings we believe to be the most credible in this industry as no money changes hands in any of the process.

The Scottish Supermarket Baking Awards

Our new Category this year - Best Supermarket Baked Product is about to begin . We are Assessing 8 Top Scottish based Supermarkets this year for our Awards in September at Mar Hall . We will be tasting 5 x different baked products that have been baked on the premises of each of these Supermarkets .Bread, Cake,Biscuit,Gluten free product and Pudding/Tart . These can be Savoury or Sweet.  Our findings will result in two only Finalists for our Scottish Baking Awards this year . All supermarkets in Scotland have been contacted to participate in this prestigious Award and for those that have not replied we will be Testing,Assessing and judging incognito . So who do you think will win the battle of the Scottish Supermarkets. All will be revealed nationally with our Press Releases nearer the time . Good luck to you all.
