Baking with Melanie

Welcome to the only Awarding and Regulatory body for Artisan Bakers in Scotland .

This award system is the only one of its kind in scotland. There is not an Awarding body for Baking but many for Master Bakers. This scheme aims to award the outstanding Baking that exists in scotland and acts as a fantastic online guide to tourists and local people alike to the very best establishments that produce quality Baking.

There will be no bad reviews as only the establishments that are Awarded the SBA(Scottish Baking Award)will be featured, therefore acting as a genuine guide. These establishments will be issued with their Award which can be displayed in their premises, signfying good Baking. If you dont have an Award then you either have not been Assessed or failed to meet Assessment criteria. This scheme will cleverly create healthy competition within Scotlands Baking industry and improve the level of Baking for our customers. Many many places advertise baking today but how many can actually say its excellent. This is their aim -to achieve a higher standard within Scotland and to stand alone in the world for excellent Baking no matter where you go in Scotland.

Our Scottish band this year 2014 is Reely Jiggered

Reely Jiggered - logo with fb twitter itunesReely Jiggered, 02 ABC Winners of SoundWave Music Competition 2014, are bursting with talent, alive with creativity and live to perform. They are inspired by Celtic Folk music, intrigued by World beats and melodies and drawn to an interesting and unique fusion of funk, rock, pop and jazz taking folk music to new heights.

To go to one of their gigs is to be taken on a journey through the streets of Mexico, the salsa clubs of Cuba, the furious fiddling of gypsies, and haunting melodies of Celtic Britain mixed with the soaring voice of a diva soprano, the beauty of acoustic instruments, revved up by driving bass lines, wah wah pedals and rocked up rhythms.

As one of Scotland’s most interesting and entrepreneurial bands they have performed at Festivals including Celtic Connections, Schotten Radio's T @ the Tower (Germany), Musica en Verano (Mexico), Cowal Highland Gathering, Lomond Festival, Roots Festival, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Tall Ships Races; as well as appearing at top venues such as Edinburgh Castle, Stirling Castle, Oran Mor, Cosmovitral (Mexico), The Lyre (Tokyo) and Minami Aizu Concert Hall (Japan).

Their self-titled debut album, released in 2011 to critical acclaim, has received airplay in Australia, Germany, Mexico and America and has been featured on BBC Radio 3 and BBC Radio Scotland. Reely Jiggered's second album "Kaleidoscope" with a fresh and bold new sound will be released in August 2014 along with their new FOLK for FOLK FESTIVAL being launched in the West of Scotland.
